Bristol Renaissance Faire Hot Spots

One of my favorite things to do during the summer is to attend the Bristol Renaissance Faire. The Ren Faire, located on the IL/WI border, is essentially an interactive stage where you walk around a Renaissance-esc town where actors and merchants are dressed in period garb. The Faire is filled with good food, great programming, and some really neat shops.  There are two shops that have become traditions for my family and I thought that I’d share them with you fine readers!

The first store is Grichels. Grishels specializes in goods with unique, one of a kind leather faces. You can see some good examples here on their Etsy. If you are looking for an attention grabber, Grichels are perfect. Each Grichel has a unique name and number and is signed by the artist. They’re the best kind of art because you can carry them around!!!

The second store is Wayfarers Whimsy. Wayfarers Whimsy specializes in handmade needle felted wool dolls, animals, etc.

I fell in love with these dolls three years ago and have since bought one a every year. This year, I bought a ‘how to’ set, as well, because I want to torture myself a little more with another crazy craft project! :p The website prices are a little higher than in the store front, so I recommend finding a Faire and going to see these guys in person!
