Tokidoki Barbie

Unless you live under a rock, you’ve probably seen or read about the newest  Barbie to stir up controversy. This time, it’s the adorable, pink bobbed Tokidoki Barbie. The brainchild of Italian born Simone Legno, Tokidoki is best known for the colorful and unique characters that adorn make up, purses, hats, and more. They’ve collaborated with many other companies before, including Marvel, and now it’s Mattel’s turn!

Alongside the Tokidoki Barbie, the website also has t-shirts, purses, and even an awesome skateboard!

I love this dolls look from head to toe. The face paint is great, the hair is adorable, and the outfit? Perfect. I’m not a huge fan of the body they chose to stick this girl with, but, as Mattel seems to really enjoy this body mold, I’m not surprised to see it on the Tokidoki Barbie.

As far as this collector barbie is concerned, I think those who find issues with the tattoo’s need to take a step back and realize that this is not exactly a doll you’re going to give to a child. The $50 price tag should be a huge clue that this doll is meant for teen and adult collectors. Truth be told, I’ll never understand why people get so up in the air about tattoo’s on dolls.   A doll with tattoo’s is nothing compared to what kids see on a regular basis at school or on reality TV.

These two purses, the fab tote and glam tote, are fantastic. I love the drawing style they used to create these two designs. At around $60, they’re a little pricey, but very, very tempting!

Tokidoki has a whole plethora of Barbie shirts on their site. This is one of my favorites!  Yes, the whole look is a bit ‘Jem and the Holograms’, but I love it!  (That’s a good idea– Tokidoki, can you please cover Jem?)

So, what do you think of the new Barbie themed Tokidoki products? Do you have a favorite item? What do you think of this whole tattoo controversy? Leave a comment!

Tattoo’s are a form of artistic expression and there are many people (parents and non-parents alike) who display them proudly. Nothing is wrong with that.

      Thanks for stopping by.
