Dolly Review: Chirstmas Kurhn, a Chinese Fashion Doll

I showcased a number of my holiday gifts in a YouTube video posted shortly after Christmas.  One of those was a doll called Kurhn.  She’s a Chinese fashion doll.  I purchased a Kurhn last year, but have been patiently waiting to get my hands on another!  Calling this a ‘review’ might be a little much.  Really the point of this post is to show her off!  If you are looking for lots of details, why not check out the first Kurhn post I did.

Christmas Kurhn

This is a basic Kurhn doll.  She looks pretty Christmas’y, so we’ve dubbed her a Christmas Kurhn!  Isn’t she adorable?!  Kurhn comes on a basic body, which means she isn’t jointed at the elbows like some other models.

She has an adorable brunette bob that frames her face.  The hair bow is sewn into her head, which is great, as I don’t plan on changing her!  Kurhn wears a fantastic dress, very classic and elegant! Under this dress is a slip that adds lift to the skirt.

The dress is red and white with a pretty picture of a bird stenciled on the front panel.  I really like this dress.  It’s so pretty!  It’s something I would want to wear.  She wears white tights and finally, red open toed shoes.  The shoes make it a twinge harder for her to stand, but if you get her just right, she’ll stand fine.  I must admit, though, the shoes do make me laugh a little, as the poor girls toes don’t actually reach the ‘open toe’ portion of the shoe.

The thing I really love about this Kurhn is her face. Like my other doll, she has large, round brown eyes that really make her stand out among the rest. She wears minimal make up, with slight blushing on her cheeks and light pink lips. Interestingly enough, she has a different kind of eye than my original Kurhn.  Christmas Kurhn’s eyes are larger, it seems, than my first Kurhn.

Kurhn dolls weren’t made to copy the western look or the anime look.  They have their own unique aesthetic, which if you ask me, is adorable!  This is a line that I will never get tired of!

As with my first Kurhn’s photoshoot, the Doctor wanted in on the action.  I think he’s a great scale for these Kurhn dolls.

I have this Kurhn too! But because of the picture on her dress, I thought of her as a Cherry Blossom Kurhn and posted about her just after Easter … Just goes to show though, she’s distinctive but not overly authored, which makes her a great plaything for kids. I love Kurhns (which is completely your fault :)) but I only have two so far … For some reason Flyingannalee isn’t advertising much to post to the UK any more, but the main reason is those pesky Monster Highs, which suck up far too much of my available money 🙂 I must get back to these beautiful dolls!

Cherry Blossom totally fits this doll, too! I’ll have to search through your archives and see your post on her!

Your Christmas Kurhn is so pretty. I got 2 Kurhn dolls for Christmas – Fashion Party Ladies Mood II and Fashion a Party Sunny Mood II. I haven’t taken them out of the box yet because I like admiring them, but I’ll inbox them soon.

Oh! I can’t wait to see them! (I think I just saw one this week, though, on your blog, right?)
