Strangeness on the Hujoo Page

It looks like Hujoo has something new in the works and it’s a 60cm anthro named Amie!!

And look, it now has a product page!  This anthro is made of ABS and will retail around $195.00 (no face up).  The face up option will cost you $25.oo more.  Of course, for $50.00 Hujoo will blush the body and do a face up.  One unique thing about this new BJD Amie is that Hujoo constructed it with plastic joints.  I imagine that this doll should pose really well because of that!

This is a strange mold and honestly?  I’m not sure what I think about it yet.  It looks unique, for sure.  It will be fun seeing what people do with this!

Also new on Hujoo’s site is Baby Janus.  This one is really weird, but super intriguing.  Not much is known about it, but as you can see in photos, this doll has two faces– one human, one animal (cat or mouse).  It’s 1/6 in size and will most likely be ABS plastic.  Wigging will be a nightmare on these, I think, but the two faces look adorable!  The human face on the cat model is so sweet and very Hujoo!

Last, there is Io, the 58cm female.  Without a face up, this ABS plastic bjd costs $195.00.  Want a face up?  Add $35.00.  They also have other options available if you want a full set.  Io has rubber joints, just like the anthro Amie.  Just like Amie, I want to see this in person before making a true judgement. At first glance, however, she looks nice!  She’s not as aesthetically Hujoo as I would like, but she’s an affordable SD sized doll and there is nothing better than that!

What do you think of these three new Hujoo‘s?  Share your thoughts below.

Ah…wow, that is indeed a very interesting dog-doll! I don’t like animal heads on older bodies though, I think it’s much better on child-like bodies. Also I wonder how the eye mechanism works on the two faced dolls? I guess it’s just two sets of eyes…if I had one I would paint different expressions on each face. Hopefully I’ll be able to gather enough money to buy an anthro Hujoo doll one of these days.

I love all my Hujoo’s, so I will always recommended adding them to collections! I didn’t even think about the eye mech on the two faced doll. How in the world will that work?! So many questions!

I liked the large dog face better blank – somehow that faceup took it right over the interesting line and into creepy for me. But I can imagine that some different paint choices would make all the difference there.

Love the idea of the two-faced heads though! There could be so many creative directions to take those!

Yeah, some of the promo photos for SD dog are a little freaky!

I was looking at the Junky Spot for some reason…I’ve forgotten now but they did feature your video review for “Make It Own” Pullip Kit. Just thought you might want to know, in case you didn’t already!

Thanks. He occasionally sends me items for review, so he can use the video portion for his site. 🙂

Ahh, I’m not usually the type to feel this way especially because I love anthropomorphic dolls, but the Amie model is kind of creepy. She makes me think of an off looking version of some of DearMine’s SD size dolls.

Yeah, I am a bit unsure of what I think of Amie. She can come off creepy. Maybe with clothing, she’d look less strange?
