Collection Close Up: My Little Pony, G1

I talk about my My Little Pony collection a lot, but it occurred to me that I haven’t actually showcased it here.  To fix that, I put together a little video that features all of my G1 My Little Ponies!  I don’t have a very large collection and truth be told, they are nearly all in played with condition, but I love them to pieces! Most of them are my childhood ponies and I did play with them.  (None were ever touched with markers or scissors, though! Oh, the horror!)

This short video spotlight was also a bit of homework for me!  I’m trying to teach myself Adobe Premiere Pro.  Up until now, I’ve been editing my videos in iMovie, but that has some limitations that Premiere doesn’t.  This was a bit of an impromptu idea, so I didn’t have time to clean my ponies up prior to taking these shots.  They are all in the same shape they were when I took them out of my bin. I do plan on giving them all a proper cleaning soon!

So, without further ado, here’s a quick video featuring all of my G1 My Little Ponies (Bubbles not included).

What is your favorite My Little Pony?  Do you have any childhood memories of My Little Pony you’d like to share?  Leave a comment down below!

Nice collection, my favorite is Glory. I have only 6 G1 ponies., I wish I had the room for more.Is there a lamp between your ponies?

Ahhh. Glory is a pretty one, too. My Glory has a less than professional hair cut– not my doing! What do you mean ‘is there a lamp between you ponies’? Do you mean is there a light shining on the ones I usually display or did I use lighting for this photo shoot? Sorry, I’m just not sure what you mean!

My daughter played with G3 ponies. At one point, she had over 100 ponies. We “culled” the herd a few years ago and got rid of those that were duplicates or ones she didn’t love or came with play sets we got rid of. I think she has around 50 or 60.

My favorites (I can’t get below 2) are Fluttershy and Minty.

That’s a lot of G3’s! I think I may have 20 or so. Just my favorites!

You and I have a lot of the same ponies 🙂 My favorite pony of all is one you showed, Princess Tiffany, the white pony with the jeweled teardrop. I was SO excited when I got her for my birthday. I have many outfits, accessories and houses and shops for them. Mine need a bath too and unfortunately from being stored in extreme heat for many years, some have gotten sticky, yuck,

I loved getting new ponies at garage sales and bringing them home, dressing them up and letting them “meet” the rest of the group! New ponies purchases were given the same ritual.

I also love the baby ponies, especially the ones with their first tooth. So adorable!

    Thanks for sharing!

Princess Tiffany is a pretty one! I don’t see Ponies very often at garage sales, but I do pick them up when I see them!

I was in high school when My Little Ponies first came out so I didn’t collect them at the time, but I’ve been steadily building up a small collection of vintage MLPs out of nostalgia for the ’80s. Your collection is inspiring!

    • kewpie83 replied:

Ah, thanks! I hope you share your MLP collection one day on your blog!

Maybe I will, it would be a fun post to write 🙂
